Leading the development for CRG, Larry Chapman collaborated with the executive team at Solae on this LEED Certified (NC V2.2) headquarters facility. The result is this 175,000 square foot sustainably constructed building that promoted wellness for Solae’s workforce and a positive impact on the environment generally through the use of locally sourced building materials and energy efficient design. Receiving the St. Louis Construction News and Real Estate 2009 Excellence Awards, Editor’s Choice Corporate Headquarters Award and the Midwest Construction News – Best of 2008 Commercial Award of Merit, the team which included Clayco as design-build general contractor and Cannon Design as Architect. Larry Chapman utilized creative financial structuring involving the use of new markets tax credits, Chapter 353 and Chapter 100 programs, which made it financially feasible for the project to undertake such a robust sustainability program.
