The Macdonald Building in Downtown West is being converted into an apartment complex.
The 56 market-rate lofts will be ready right before St. Louis City SC kicks off its inaugural season so tenants can enjoy a three-minute walk to the stadium.
The 90,000-square-foot building will include amenities such as a fitness center, a ground floor retail space fronting Washington Avenue, two levels of internal parking, and a lounge. The building was once Mulligan Printing Co. and garage doors in the back were used for trucks coming and going. Now the three large garage doors will be perfect for an indoor-outdoor space in the common area.
The loft apartments will be available in one- and two-bedroom configurations. Each apartment will have 10-foot ceilings and the building will feature historical elements that add character.

Insight
“We can make our mark on St. Louis by providing adaptive reuse solutions to underutilized historic buildings in predominantly low-income communities and giving new life to those neighborhoods.”
